Sziegl Pince Kövidinka 2023

Sziegl Pince 100% Kövidinka, an indigeneous Hungarian variety is a skin macerated wine, with 4-9 days on skins of fruit harvested in three different phases. This gives their wines always a range of flavours, ripeness and they manage getting the right freshness too.

Lots of stone fruit, white peaches, nectarines, rhubarb, touch of persimmons, and salty, savoury on the finish! Delish.

Olaszrizling from Sziegl Pince in Hungary, is from winemaker and owner Petra's favourite sites. All fruit here comes from their single vineyard Herreberg, vineyard high in loess and sandy soils. The resulting wine is very elegant, poised, good structure and a long, lingering finish. It spends three days on skins, but only enough to give texture, untouched without any stirring or moving the wine. As Petra says, only "touched" before bottling. A beautifully judged wine.

Abv: 12.5%, organic farming, natural winemaking, no added So2 either
