This 100% Frankovka, from old vines, planted in 1934, is full of dark, ripe cherries, spice, floral character such as black roses, good medium-bodied weight, an uplifting core, which makes it so easy drinking yet something meditative about it. Petr Koráb really found working with these old vines so special, he didn't get high yields but what was more important to him was saving this old clone of Frankovka, also known as Karmazín in his village, from getting wiped out. He also found the finished wines have really good complexity and depth.
The Frankovkas from Moravia and Slovakia, are like a dance between Syrah and Pinot Noir attributes.
